Description
When Furniture and Wall Pegs are used in conjunction with Peg Drive Inserts, both connected parts are self-retaining inside the wood shelf or panel. Neither part can fall out. This arrangement is ideal for flat-pack furniture manufacturers because factory installed supports remain in place during transport and made assembly easier for the buyer. This arrangement works equally well for Trade and DIY shelf fitting.
Peg Drive Inserts are not required when the Key Tool is used to engage Furniture & Wall Pegs.
To support up to 5 shelves in furniture or between walls the minimum Unipegit parts required for a skilled craftsperson would be:
- 1 Drive Key
- 1 Pack of 20 Furniture & Wall Pegs
- 1 Pack of 20 Peg Locks or 1 Pack of 20 x 15mm Hole Covers
Optional/ alternative items to consider:
- 1 Pack of 10 Positioners (used to mark positions before drilling holes)
- 1 Pack of 20 Peg Drive Inserts (an alternative to using the Drive Key)
- 1 Pack of 20 Peg Drive Covers (used to conceal 15mm holes by pressing into Peg Drive Inserts when used)
- 1 Pack of 20 Hole Covers (used to cover 15mm holes when only Furniture and Wall Pegs are used)
- 1 Pack of 20 Wall Sockets (used to receive Furniture and Wall Pegs in solid walls)
- 1 Pack of 20 Dry Wall Plugs (used to receive Furniture and Wall Pegs in dry walls/ plasterboard cavity walls)
NOTES
The holes required for Unipegit parts can be drilled by a person experienced at machining wood, without needing to purchase the Unipegit Drilling Jig.
However, for safety and best results we recommend using the Drilling Jig which is set to accurately position 15mm Forstner and 7.0mm drill bits. Unipegit Drill Bits and Depth Stops are available to ensure the best results when used in accordance with user instructions.
